Energy efficiency improvement measures

Energy efficiency

According to the Energy Efficiency Act of 20 May 2016, energy efficiency is the ratio of the achieved performance effect of a given facility, technical equipment, or installation under typical conditions of its use or operation to the amount of energy consumed by that facility, technical equipment, or installation, or as a result of the provided service necessary to achieve that effect.

Within the meaning of the Energy Efficiency Act of 20 May 2016, energy efficiency measures include:

1. Implementation and financing of an energy efficiency improvement project
2. Acquisition of equipment, installation, or vehicle with low energy consumption and low operating costs
3. Upgrade of equipment, installation, or vehicle in operation or their replacement with equipment, installation, or vehicle as referred to in item 2
4. Implementation of the thermal efficiency improvement project within the meaning of the Act of 21 November 2008 on support for thermal efficiency improvement and renovation and on the central emission register for buildings (Dz.U. [Journal of Laws] of 2021, items 554, 1162, and 1243)
5. Implementation of the environmental management system referred to in Article 2(13) of Regulation (EC) No.1221/2009 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 25 November 2009 on the voluntary participation by organisations in a Community eco-management and audit scheme (EMAS), repealing Regulation (EC) No. 761/2001 and Commission Decisions 2001/681/EC and 2006/193/EC (EU Official Journal L 342, 22 December 2009, p. 1, as amended), confirmed by obtaining an entry in the EMAS register referred to in Article 5(1) of the Act of 15 July 2011 on the national eco-management and audit scheme (EMAS) (Dz.U. [Journal of Laws] of 2020, item 634)
6. Implementation of low-carbon projects referred to in the Act of 21 November 2008 on support for thermal efficiency improvement and renovation and on the Central Emission Register of Buildings.

Information on the status of the efficient district heating system and the share of renewable energy in district heating systems

Bearing in mind the provisions of Article 7b Section 5 of the Energy Law, we present below a table containing information on the district heating networks of KOGENERACJA S.A., within the scope of the indicated legal provision:

• the percentage shares of energy from renewable energy sources, together with the type of renewable energy source, waste heat, heat from cogeneration in the total amount of heat supplied to this heating system in the previous calendar year,

• the sum of gross final consumption of heat energy generated by all heat generators in a given district heating system, together with the amount and share of heat generated from renewable energy sources and waste heat,

• the value of the primary energy input factor, as defined by the regulations issued on the basis of Article 29 of the Energy Efficiency Law.
